Reddit will now require everyone to log in to browse

You used to be able to browse Reddit without logging in, but that has gradually eroded. When I browse logged out in my phone's browser, I often get an unskippable prompt demanding that I log in to keep reading. Search has also become less useful logged out: often, out of the blue, you can't search within a sub anymore, only site-wide. Apparently they had issues with unauthorized content scrapping. So they've announced the log in requirement is becoming the norm.
